It is possible to embrace primary prevention methods such as offering relevant information and education, launching campaigns against targeted diseases, providing vaccines, advocating for condoms, and proper use of microbicides. It is also possible to intervene by increasing screening among vulnerable populations such as pregnant women and to embrace STI case management.

Purpose

The purpose of the paper by Cohen, Council, and Chen (2019) is to describe possible ways for preventing and treating STIs that continue to be a problem in many societies. The author hopes that the information will help curb STIs cases, particularly among highly vulnerable groups.
